This is the part where most websites tell you they value your privacy whilst simultaneously hoovering up every data point about you and selling it to whoever's buying.

We're not doing that.

What We Collect

When you sign up for updates about A Young Human's Guide to Earth, we collect:

1. Your first name (so we can address you like a human being)

2. Your email address (so we can actually send you things)

That's it. We don't track your browsing habits, we don't use cookies beyond what's technically necessary to make the website function, and we're not interested in building a psychological profile of you.

What We Do With Your Information

We use your email and first name to:

1. Send you a free sample of the book or survival tips

2. Notify you when the book is released and available for purchase

3. Eventually send you a monthly or biweekly newsletter with observations about being on Earth with no instruction manual

That's the complete list. We won't:

- Sell your email to third parties

- Share your information with anyone else (except our email service provider, which we need to actually send emails)

- Re-subscribe you after you unsubscribe

- Send you anything you didn't explicitly sign up for

Your Rights

You can:

1. Unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email we send

2. Request a copy of the information we hold about you

3. Request that we delete all your information (we'll do it within 30 days)

4. Update your preferences or contact details

Email Service Provider

We use a third-party email service provider to manage our mailing list and send newsletters. They have access to your email and first name, but are contractually obligated to keep it private and use it only for sending our emails. They don't own your data, we do, and we don't let them use it for anything else.

Data Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Your data is stored securely with industry-standard encryption. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and notify you via email. We won't make changes that expand what we do with your data without giving you the option to opt out.
